What should I do if an insurance company asks me to sign a release?

Once you sign a release, you are settling with the insurance company and that will be the end of your claim. It is alright to sign a property damage release so payment can be forwarded for your vehicle to be repaired. You should not, however, sign a medical release until your injuries have been fully treated.
