Morgan WhitlockMorgan A. Whitlock is a 2002 graduate of North Carolina State University where she was a member of the Varsity Women’s Tennis Team. She is a 2008 graduate of The University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law; formerly Antioch School of Law.

She is currently licensed to practice law in Maryland and Virginia.

While in law school Morgan was an Associate Editor of the Law Review, Treasurer of the Women’s Law Society, a 2L and 3L student government class senator where she sat on the budget and judiciary committees, the teaching assistant for the Katrina Law course, and she was selected as the class of 2008’s student representative for the Admissions Committee responsible for selecting the class of 2011.

Morgan was a recipient of the 2008 Dean’s Cup Award given by law school Dean Shelley Broderick for outstanding law school service. During her third year she provided over 800 hours of pro bono legal service through the law school’s HIV/AIDS and Juvenile/Special Education legal clinics. During both her second and third years in law school Morgan spent her spring breaks providing volunteer legal services in New Orleans, LA post Hurricane Katrina. This opportunity arose from a class UDC offered entitled Katrina: Disasters and the Law. As a second year law student, March 2007, she volunteered with The Pro Bono Project of New Orleans. Morgan assisted Hurricane Katrina victims obtain federal money through the “Road Home” program, by performing necessary succession work. In December 2007, The Pro Bono Project of the Greater New Orleans Area named UDC-DCSL its "Law School of the Year" and the Louisiana State Supreme Court honored UDC-DCSL.

During her third year in law school she was the teaching assistant form the class and volunteered with the ACLU of New Orleans. While volunteering for the ACLU she investigated, compiled, and researched prisoners’ rights violations arising out of the treatment of inmates during and after the hurricane as well as various statewide alleged violations unrelated to the hurricane. During both years she volunteered with the Saint Bernard’s Parish Project physically rebuilding homes destroyed during Katrina. Morgan also conducted a fundraiser, through the Women’s Law Society, in the fall of 2007 to raise money for building materials for the St. Bernard’s Project.

Morgan lives in Leesburg.
